ACWFL Hosts Jamboree in GCU Soccer Stadium

Arizona, Arizona State, Grand Canyon, Nevada State

Phoenix, AZ – March 28, 2026

Earlier this spring the Grand Canyon University Women’s Flag Football team hosted Nevada State University for a scrimmage and fellow American Collegiate Women’s Flag League teams Arizona State and University of Arizona for a round robin style tournament on the GCU Soccer Stadium field.

Nevada State 26, GCU 6

Nevada State got the day started strong, leading the Lopes 12-0 at halftime. GCU then scored first in the second half, but the Scorpions defense stood up on every remanning GCU possession to seal the scrimmage victory.

Arizona State 46, Arizona 0

ASU followed with a dominant 46-0 victory over Arizona in the second game of the day.

Arizona State 20, Grand Canyon 13

The third matchup of the day featured a defensive battle, with ASU overcoming GCU 20-13. The win moved ASU to 2-0 in the tournament.

Grand Canyon 32, Arizona 26

Wrapping up the day in the heat, GCU secured a 32-26 win over the Wildcats. GCU ended the day 1-2, while Arizona finished 0-2.
